Developer announced for Peacehaven Meridian site

Henry Davidson Developments Limited (HDD) has been announced as the new developer that will build a new town centre for Peacehaven on the Meridian site. HDD will begin working with the Peacehaven and Telscombe Neighbourhood Development Plan Steering Group (PTNDSG) who will consult fully with residents before a planning application is submitted.

Cathy Gallagher, Chair of the PTNDSG said, “We are pleased that progress is being made at last and will be working closely with HDD in the coming months to ensure that all views of Peacehaven residents are represented. This is a very exciting time for Peacehaven which will have a major impact for Generations to come.

“PTNDSG held a workshop in February to get views on the facilities residents would like at the Meridian site and a survey will be launched soon giving the community another chance to tell us their ideas which we will then use as the basis for our discussions with HDD."

Scott Davidson, Managing Director of HDD, said: “We are extremely pleased to be working on this very exciting new project, we acknowledge that this is an important scheme locally and we look forward to developing our scheme in conjunction with key stakeholders, local community, and the local planning authority.”

Andy Thompson, Co-op Planning Manager, confirmed: “Co-op is committed to seeing a thriving Meridian Centre at the heart of local life and, has awarded preferred bidder status for the sale and redevelopment of its land to Henry Davidson Developments (HDD) Limited. We are pleased to confirm that the site will undergo significant investment, with HDD leading engagement with the community and local authority in the creation of a new centre, including a replacement Co-op to safeguard local jobs and better serve the community.”

The Meridian site survey will be launched online shortly and will also be advertised locally to ensure residents have their say.
